Rio menceritakan, dirinya bekerja di Cibubur, Jakarta Timur, sebagai seorang sopir bus pariwisata sejak 2017.

Sebelum ada pandemi corona, bisnis penyewaan bus pariwisata di Jakarta masih berjalan dengan baik.

Setelah corona mewabah, bisnis penyewaan bus pariwisata mulai terkena dampak, termasuk perusahaan tempat dirinya bekerja.

Awalnya, hanya beberapa kru bus yang mengalami PHK. Kemudian semua kru termasuk dirinya juga terkena PHK.

“Saya menerima berita di-PHK dari kantor 8 Mei 2020,” kata Rio ketika ditemui Kompas.com di Gedung Graha Wisata Niaga Solo, Jawa Tengah, Selasa (19/5/2020).

Rio berpikir antara bertahan hidup di Jakarta atau memilih untuk pulang ke Solo. Jika tetap di Jakarta, dirinya harus membayar uang sewa kontrakan dan masih mencukupi kebutuhan hidup setiap hari.

Sementara dirinya sudah tidak memiliki pekerjaan tetap karena terkena PHK. Dengan penuh pertimbangan, Rio akhirnya memutuskan untuk pulang ke kampung halaman di Solo.

“Saya mencoba naik angkutan umum, tapi sangat mahal, Rp 500.000 tarifnya. Terus yang datang bukan bus tapi Elf, dan penumpangnya melebihi kapasitas,” terang Rio.



“Akhirnya saya minta uangnya. Paginya saya berangkat lagi pinjam kendaraan pribadi. Sampai di Cikarang harus balik, harus ribut dulu sama petugas. Saya tetap mengotot untuk pulang karena di-PHK tidak ada pendapatan, terus mau ke mana?” sambung Rio.

Tidak ingin ribut terlalu lama dengan petugas, Rio akhirnya putar balik dan kembali lagi ke pool. Dia pun berpikir bahwa jalan satu-satunya untuk bisa pulang ke Solo adalah dengan berjalan kaki.

Rio berangkat dari Cibubur, Jakarta Timur, pada Senin (11/5/2020) setelah shalat subuh. Pada waktu akan berangkat ke Solo, Rio sempat dicegah oleh teman-temannya supaya tinggal sementara di rumah mereka.

“Saya tidak mau merepotkan mereka. Saya habis shalat subuh langsung berangkat dari Cibubur, jalan kaki ke Solo,” kata dia.

Rio berhenti untuk istirahat di Jatisari, Pamanukan, sekitar pukul 10.00 WIB. Setelah itu dirinya melanjutkan perjalanan dan tiba di Cirebon pada Selasa (13/5/2020) sekitar pukul 03.00 WIB.

Setelah itu, Rio kembali melanjutkan perjalanannya sampai di Kabupaten Batang pada Rabu (13/5/2020). Rio melanjutkan perjalanan dan sampai Gringsing pada Kamis (14/5/2020) sore.

“Sampai Gringsing Kamis sore. Saya dijemput dari teman-teman Peparindo, diantar pulang ke Solo. Saya tiba di Solo hari Jumat pukul 08.00 WIB,” ungkap dia.

Rio setiap hari menempuh perjalanan sekitar 100 kilometer. Selama di perjalanan, ia selalu berupaya untuk tetap berpuasa. Dia mengatakan, medan yang terlalu berat selama dirinya berjalan kaki adalah di kawasan Karawang Timur sampai Tegal.

“Udaranya sangat panas. Sampai gosong semua kulit saya karena panas,” ungkap dia.

Setiap dia singgah di warung makan untuk berbuka puasa ataupun sahur, pemilik warung makan itu selalu tidak mau dibayar.

Mereka iba dengan kondisi Rio yang berjalan kaki dari Cibubur untuk bisa pulang ke kampung halaman.

“Saya pernah ditanya mau ke mana? Saya jawab mau ke Solo. Mereka terkejut. Ada yang minum sampai kesedak. Terus saya mau bayar, pemilik warung tidak mau dibayar,” paparnya.

Rio tiba di Solo pada Jumat (15/5/2020) sekitar pukul 08.00 WIB. Ia langsung dibawa ke gedung karantina milik Pemkot Solo di Graha Wisata Niaga Jalan Slamet Riyadi untuk menjalani karantina selama 14 hari di gedung tersebut.

Karantina dilakukan karena baru saja pulang mudik dari zona merah penyebaran virus corona. Selama karantina di gedung tersebut, semua kebutuhan makanan disiapkan oleh Pemkot Solo.

Rio mengaku sempat berpikir bahwa tempat karantina itu tidak nyaman dan seperti penjara. Namun, setelah beberapa hari menjalani proses karantina, Rio mengaku sangat nyaman dan betah tinggal di tempat karantina.

“Saya kaget. Di sini teman-teman yang juga menjalani karantina itu sudah seperti keluarga. Makan terjamin, tidur nyaman, saya dapat kasur baru yang masih diplastik. Jadi benar-benar luar biasa bagi saya. Sangat memanusiakan manusia,” ucap Rio.

Disinggung apa rencana setelah selesai menjalani karantina, Rio menjawab ingin berziarah ke makam kedua orangtuanya di pemakaman umum Bonoloyo, Kadipiro, Solo.

“Rencananya setelah keluar karantina saya mau ke makam orangtua di Bonoloyo,” ujar dia.
