JAKARTA – TNI Angkatan Laut menemukan adanya pendangkalan dasar laut dan perubahan bentuk morfologi Gunung Anak Krakatau di Selat Sunda, setelah terjadinya erupsi dan longsoran yang memicu tsunami ke pesisir Banten dan Lampung, pada Sabtu 22 Desember 2018.

Temuan itu diketahui setelah Pusat Hidrografi dan Oseanografi TNI Angkatan Laut (Pushidrosal) melakukan survei hidro-oseanografi dan investigasi di area longsoran Gunung Anak Krakatau dengan KRI Rigel-933.

Kepala Pushidrosal, Laksda Harjo Susmoro menjelaskan bahwa berdasarkan data hasil survei hidro-oseanografi Pushidrosal 2016 dan data Multi Beam Echosounder (MBES) hasil survei Tim Pushidrosal, pada 29 hingga 30 Desember 2018, diketahui perairan di selatan Gunung Anak Krakatau terjadi perubahan kontur kedalaman 20 sampai dengan 40 meter lebih dangkal.

Menurutnya ini dikarenakan adanya tumpahan magma dan material longsoran Gunung Anak Krakatau yang langsung jatuh ke laut.

“Selain itu dengan pengamatan visual radar dan analisis dari citra ditemukan perubahan morfologi bentuk Anak Gunung Krakatau pada sisi sebelah barat seluas 401.000 m2 atau lebih kurang sepertiga bagian lereng sudah hilang dan menjadi cekungan kawah menyerupai teluk,” kata Harjo seperti dilansir dari situs tnial.mil.id, Rabu (2/1/2018).

Pada cekungan kawah itu, masih dijumpai semburan magma Gunung Anak Krakatau yang berasal dari bawah air, laut.

Survei investigasi pascatsunami di perairan Selat Sunda oleh Pushidrosal merupakan tugas yang sesuai amanah dari Keppres Nomor 62 Tahun 2016.

Sebagai Kotama Pembinaan TNI AL dan anggota International Hidrographyc Organization (IHO), Pushidrosal mempunyai tugas melaksanakan survei investigasi saat terjadi bencana alam maupun kecelakaan di laut untuk menjamin keselamatan navigasi dan keamanan pelayaran bagi kapal-kapal yang sedang berlayar.

“Selain itu data batimetri, oseanografi, data layer dasar laut yang diperoleh dari peralatan sub bottom profiling (SBP) diharapkan dapat diteliti dan dianalisis lebih detail lagi oleh peneliti, pakar dan akedemisi sehingga mampu memberikan informasi kepada pemerintah serta masyarakat fenomena yang terjadi pasca erupsi dan tsunami di perairan Selat Sunda,” ujarnya.
