Polisi telah menetapkan empat orang tersangka asal Jakarta dan Bogor.



Kepala Bidang Humas Polda Jabar Komisaris Besar Saptono Erlangga mengungkapkan, uang palsu diamankan saat melaksanakan Operasi Ketupat Lodaya di pos pengamanan Cikunir.

“Awalnya petugas mencurigai kendaraan berplat nomor Bogor yang ditumpangi empat pelaku. Semula petugas mengira, pelaku merupakan pemudik namun saat digeledah ternyata menemukan uang palsu dalam dua tas besar,” kata Saptono, Rabu (13/5).

Barang bukti yang diamankan berupa 29.600 lembar uang palsu pecahan Rp100 ribu.

Meski tidak bisa dikategorikan dalam hitungan nominal, namun jika dihitung uang palsu tersebut mencapai Rp 2,9 miliar.

Para pelaku yaitu berinisial MD, N, MSSP dan JUB. Menurut pengakuan, mereka sengaja membawa uang palsu milik temannya bernama Erwin asal Tangerang, Banten.

Uang palsu ini sudah dibawa selama tiga bulan dengan keliling Jawa.

“Tujuannya bukan diedarkan melainkan untuk mencari orang pintar yang bisa menyempurnakan uang palsu hingga bisa diperjual belikan. Mereka berencana mendatangi orang pintar di kawasan Sukaratu, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya,” ujar Saptono.

Meski belum mengedarkan uang palsu yang dibawanya, para pelaku terjerat Pasal 36 ayat 2 UU 7/ 2011 tentang mata uang dengan ancaman 10 tahun penjara dan denda sebesar Rp10 miliar.



Untuk memastikan uang tersebut, Saptono menyebut pihak Bank Indonesia sudah memeriksa uang yang dibawa pelaku pada setiap lembarnya.

Hasilnya, tingkat keaslian barang bukti yang ada, pecahan uang yang diduga palsu ini tidak memiliki ciri-ciri keasliannya.

Seperti tidak ada logo Bank Indonesia, bahan dan tidak ada cetak timbul dalam uang yang dibawa para pelaku.

“Tindakan kepolisian yang telah dilakukan terhadap penanganan kasus uang palsu ini yaitu mengamankan tersangka berikut barang bukti, memeriksa kesehatan tersangka, melakukan pemeriksaan, gelar perkara serta pengembangan lebih lanjut,” ucap Saptono.
